IABC T&T Hosts Communications Measurement Expert
Discussing topics ranging from: "Measuring communications channels and outcomes to the PR audit process," close to 200 communicators from across the Caribbean are expected to gather at Queen's Hall, 21 April, to learn how to measure the return on their investment of their communications programmes.
The conference, "Money, Messages and Metrics:" Measuring the ROI of your Communications Programme," is being hosted by the International Association of Business Communicators Trinidad and Tobago (IABC T&T) and will feature one of world's most respected voices on the topic, Angela Sinickas."
"Communications has become more and more strategic, and those in the industry are continuously being asked to justify the value and the return of their spend to their CFOs and CEOs," said IABC T&T founder Judette Coward-Puglisi, "the old way of looking at media coverage to gauge awareness is no longer valid."
While positive media coverage will always be essential, Coward-Puglisi maintains that the changing business environment with all its attendant technology and new methodologies require that communicators understand the new measurement imperatives. "IABC T&T wants to ensure that professionals are equipped to speak the language of measurement."
Preparing the communicators will be IABC Fellow, Angela Sinickas, president of Sinickas Communications, Inc., an international consultancy helping organisations achieve business results through focused diagnostics and practical solutions.
Sinickas is regarded as a pioneer in the field of organisational communication measurement and been measuring the effectiveness of communication since 1981. She is the author of the manual, How to Measure Your Communication Programs, now in its third edition, and is a regular columnist for the magazine, Strategic Communication Management. She has 15 international-level Gold Quill awards from IABC, five of them for measurement projects."
"IABC T&T's Money, Messages and Metrics: Measuring the ROI of your Communications Programme is designed for senior professionals with experience in public relations, communications and/or marketing from corporations, agencies, not-for-profit organizations and government, said Wendy Bishop, conference chair and vice president of Administration of IABC T&T." It will also be of particular interest to CFOs and HR managers who have responsibility for their organisation's communication programmes.
Participants of the April 21st conference at Queens Hall will learn how to position their communications programme as strategic, and demonstrate the value of PR to their organisation's bottom line.
